We’re told from the very beginning, “Do what you LOVE. Follow your passion.”
This is not only bad advice but a harmful, irrelevant mantra.
What you’re passionate about and what you love may not translate to a viable career path.
Instead, consider this advice from Ashley Stahl:
Ask yourself, “Who am I? What am good at? What’s keeping me from trying?
Answer these questions, and you’ll have a path worth walking down. Working at a job where you’re efficient and doing something well will make you far happier than chasing some idea of what you’re supposed to be doing.
Don’t obsess or fret over finding your passion and working it into a career. Use your skills to be the best you can be at your job rather than exploiting your passion, and do what you love during your free time.
